Calling all Space Cadets… Prepare for massive depressurization on Monday, June 14th with “STAR SKATE” @ WUMPSKATE!!! DJ Xian (Malediction Society, Ruin Hollywood, LADEAD.com) will keep you engaged right round the rink at Warp 9 with the sounds of nothing but ALTERNATIVE · 80s · DARKWAVE · SYNTHPOP · GOTH · DEATHROCK · ELECTRO · INDIE · EBM · INDUSTRIAL and the rain~ (Alas, no screams…can’t hear those in space…)

For this stellar occasion, we’re encouraging everyone to suit up for the Uber Geek Mashup Costume Contest of their favorite outer space sci-fi flicks and series and take the challenge to create a parallel universe worth exploring! Battlestar Gallactica, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, Space Odyssey, Babylon 5, Space Balls, etc, etc — throw them together and if your force is strong, you could win $25 for Best Boy & Best Girl Costumes, or collaborate an a whole new brane of wrongness for a chance to win Best Group Costume for $50!!! And c’mon, who wouldn’t want to see a Klingon Sith Lord or 3CPO vs Data grudge match…? *efg*

The World on Wheels is equipped with a huge wooden skating rink, an inner play rink for learning and dancing, video games, seating and rest areas, free skate rentals, personal storage lockers, a smoking patio, and a huge and FREE parking lot! Capturing souls for the evening is the infamous Elektrokution (LADarkroom) and feel free to ask our most awesome mascots, Chrome Girl and Freak about how to improve your skating skills!
