Whenever you get home from a tour, everyone begs to know what “really happened” out there. Your best friend down to your favorite bartender all ask for the inside track. They need the stories you’d rather take to your grave. They want a glimpse of the glory. Everyone craves just a little taste of the kill. They want to swing on the fringe with you for just a moment before landing back on safe ground. Want no more, fashion fiends I’m here to scratch your itch. I tempt you with a sneak peak into the filthy looking glass of the Rock Roll road. I will warn you, it can get a little messy.

I will first give a bit of advice to all of those out there sitting at home punching a clock while your better half is “god knows where” doing “god knows what” for little or no money. Your lover may come home crying “it’s so hard, I’d rather be here with you than living like an animal”. They may tell you they hate it on tour and rally your sympathy. Remember this: they are lying. This is how we ease our guilt for having too much fun. Is it tough out there? Definitely! Is it fun? More than you can fathom!!! Those of us who choose this life would rather be on the road than anywhere else. When Rock & Roll hunger is in your blood, you must feed. We ARE the animals. The road IS our home. The insanity IS our way. We ARE the circus and this big top just destroyed Texas.

We headed to Austin to play the Texas Rock Fest during SxSW and from the moment we rolled into town, the mayhem began. Motorhead was playing Stubbs in honor of the premier of Lemmy: The Movie . Watch the trailer and watch the whole film when it’s released. There is a lot to learn from this man and what most don’t know how funny he is. I’m always a sucker for a good laugh and Lemmy was kind enough to invite us to hang out on the Motorhead bus for a while with him before taking the stage. I love listening to his stories, he truly is one of a kind and one hell of a kind!! Thanks Lem! The show was insane and the Motorhead fans were even crazier. The night spilled over into some bar down the street where we ran into friends from from all over the country. Even the lovely Miss Shannon Sleaze of Gasoline Glamour was there. There are parts of the week that were a bit foggy, but how could I forget the insane rock & roll jewels from GG?!

The next two days the festival was booked with early Lip Service comrades like Faster Pussycat and LA Guns and up and comers like Crank County Daredevils, Lady Jack, Dirty Pearls, TLV, Denko Jones and many more. It was great to hang with all of our friends we love and adore and all the new troublemakers that jumped on board. We took over the streets of Austin. Hell was definitely raised but don’t fret, we buried the bodies where they’ll never be found.

The rest of the tales are left to be told by the pictures. They shall remain nameless to protect the guilty. After all there is a code of touring – “what happens on the road – stays on the road”! You didn’t really think I’d reveal ALL my dirty little secrets, now did you? However, I will leave you with one piece of advice. If you ever wake up in the middle of the night with your guitarist palming your face and screaming, just roll over and go back to sleep. She’s just having a bad dream and you can laugh about it over bloody mary’s in the morning. Until next time underground lovers & style freaks.

LA’s Prima Donna, who went On the Road through Europe (then Asia!) in their Stretch Fuck’n Jeans supporting Green Day, are back home! We (the Webmaster and I) went to their homecoming show with our photographer hats on to watch them lay waste to the Key Club Saturday night. An awesome collection of supporting bands got the crowd warmed up for a killer show. And Kevin, Aaron, David, Erik, and Daniel gave the capacity crowd just that, a kickass set of glam-punk-infused rock n roll that pulsated with raw energy.

GD: Hey Chinatown (that’s the nickname Tre gave me…long story), we wanna bring Prima Donna on the Euro leg of this tour. What do you think?

KP: Bitchin! No way! Killer! Rad! For real?

Next thing I should have done was call the band, but no. I called up Lip Service and said, “Gimme some Stretch Fuck’n Jeans!!!” Now that I handled that business, we were on a plane to Lisbon, Portugal. It was one of those flights with the personal T.V.s and since I don’t sleep on planes, I think I watched about 9 movies.

When we got to the arena in Lisbon, it was really a trip to see how giant it was. We even have a 40 foot banner to play in front of. I think the banner itself is bigger than any stage we’ve played on previous to this tour. The show was sold out and the capacity was 12,500. By the time we hit the stage, it was about 90% full! During our set, Tre set off some pyrotechnics. It was a real killer! Thousands of kids bopping along to Soul Stripper? I can get used to this!

Watching Green Day after we played was fucking amazing! I have seen them close to 30 times now and they still blow me away every time! They are the best live band on the planet. I woke up the next day with one of the biggest hangovers I’ve ever had, but I was relieved that it wasn’t all a dream. Kisses to Portugal!

That’s better…. It all started when some prick with a jiffy bag thought it would be funny to pull me from my hang in LA and send me off on an aeroplane with empty pockets, armed with nothing but a postage stamp. Well Ha fucking Ha Mr Warehouse, the joke’s on you. I’m a Rockstar, ‘Stretch’ the fuck’n jean Rockstar, belting out guitar madness all over the UK on a packed out club tour. Bet you wish you’d put yourself in that jiffy bag, hey?

Travelling gives you time to think. And those 8 long dark hours between LA and London gave me all the thinking time I needed. I had to take on the world, one step at a time, start at the bottom and work my way up. With no time to ‘waist’ I began to pray, “Oh great jean lord. Take me to my rightful place. Give me the strength to survive this mighty journey in one piece. Take me to Zico Chain, the greatest of guitar warriors, where I will embrace them in all my dark rock glory and protect them on all their travels”

It must have been the free booze on the flight, but I fell asleep. Although it comes across as seamless, I’m sure it wasn’t; the jean gods had answered my prayers and I awoke in a dressing room at Liverpool Barfly, the hometown of the Beatles, and from then on I’ve never looked back…

“The jeans are here! About fucking time they turned up. I haven’t changed in a week.” I saw Chris grinning as he marched across the room to grab me. He’s the front man, a very tall and handsome chap with a marvellous voice. He’d decided I was his size, and though I thought it was a bit of a squeeze I knew I had the strength, and without even time for a dress rehearsal we hit the stage. I find out after the gig that we’re releasing an EP next month…. check out a review here:

NOTTINGHAM ROCK CITY
Chris’s birthday. He claims he’s 21. I said nothing, but I’m sure he’s lying. He just feels 21 with his new skinny jeans. This is the city of Robin Hood, the city of green tights, so no shortage of tight jeans here, I felt right at home. Rock n Roll! Another great gig too. Nasty mosh pit caused a few crowd bruises. I got covered in jack and sick and sweat and beer, but I can take it. It’s all part of the big package. I ended up slightly embarrassed as Chris dragged me to the top of his van to declare to all the fans hanging around that he was a ‘golden god!’ Not our finest moment. But it does feel like we’re almost famous…. check out this review:

Tonight I fell in love. Chris’s fiancé came to the show. And I couldn’t take my flies off her perfect Stretch fuck’n jeans. They were so fine. We spent most of the night just grinding up against each other in the club, then as the night came to a beautiful end we collapsed in a sweaty entwined heap on the hotel room floor and dried out together under a light bulb, the steam rising as we watched the dust gently settle on the carpet. Maybe tomorrow Chris will let us take the bed….

So, they say these types of trips are how horror movies start, haha nice! It’s Monday, August 17th and I’m off to the mountains with my woman(Katie). It’s about a 3 hour drive from Portland, nothing like a good unplanned road trip and, fyi, you can’t plan an adventure.

An hour into the drive she asked me if I was hungry, because this is the last place to stop before we enter the mountains. If I had one last request, I wouldn’t choose Subway, but it was that or Dairy Queen…. Taco Bell sounded nice! My last meal would be “The 4th meal” anyways. My sub was sloppy and poorly made … she was no “sandwich-artist”. The lettuce was like slime and the bread was stale, but it did the job.

This was so Texas Chainsaw massacre or a movie called Wrong turn, all the small, back roads country stores and no phone service…(warning A.D.D. ahead!)

Anyways, “When is a good time to write out a will?” I asked myself while listening to music and staring out the window on my drive. So I reached back into the backseat, grabbed my notebook and pen (never leave home without it). I pretended to write lyrics, sound ideas or doodles to keep Katie from knowing what was really going on in my head.

“What sums up a person in the end? What they have done, accomplished or what they didn’t do? It feels like yesterday I was 6 riding my bike in my parents front yard, dirt on my hands and a smile on my face. Life really does fly by. Not much has changed, though I still have dirt on my hands and still act like a 6 year old at times. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I don’t want to die old, unhappy and impotent. What’s up all you Lip Service people? Philip here from the band Steadlur (No, I did not misspell Seether). Sorry I’m not sorry. So this is blog number 3. I hope someone’s reading this and nothing much has changed from the last 2 blogs for all my readers. I’m still partying and dodging the bullet!

This week I went to meet up with my close friend Brad (B-rad, B-radness or Bra’d haha whatever). He has been on the road guitar teching (guitar bitch) with the band Red Jump Suit Apparatus. You might have heard one of their songs on the radio and, if not, check them out!

I got to the Hawthorne theatre, which by the way is kind of an annoying venue because, back in June, I went to go see CKY and one of the security goons cut me off at the bar. When I asked why he kicked me out. I don’t get it? What’s the point of drinking if you cant get drunk? I wasn’t throwing up, being loud or making a scene. I was minding my own business and he should have too, plus I was tipping the bartender kindly! So, the same guy was there and he hassled me again by constantly patting me down with security every time I walked into the venue. Then, the last time, he said “I shouldn’t let you in because you smell like liquor”… I was like, “DUH!” because I had been drinking at the bar inside the damn venue. “See the all access pass? Now get the hell out of my way”….

As crazy as that was I had no clue what was ahead of me. We met up with some friends and went to a bar called The East End. I met up with my friend Marcus, drank a shit ton of tequila and blacked out. I came to around 3 am when we were all hanging out on a deck outside of a girl’s house. I didn’t know where we were, but we were still going strong and drinking the grossest beer ever… Busch Beer YUCK!

The girl who lived there passed out and my friend Marcus slept on the other side of her bed (totally clothed and innocent), not knowing she had a boyfriend. He woke up the next day to her boyfriend dumping her in the other room because, when he came home (dude’s been in Japan), he walked into his room and saw his girlfriend in their bed with my crazy friend Marcus! When the boyfriend left, Marcus came over, woke me up and said “Dude we got to go! That girl has a boyfriend and I think he will be back to kill all of us!” haha I was like, “rad,” and went into the bathroom, hugged the ice cold porcelain toilet bowl and almost puked my brains out! Right on!

What’s up everyone or anyone? Philip Steadlur here …

This weekend I went on a little trip to a place called Pacific City, which is a small beach town on the Oregon coast, but got off to a late start due to packing (such a bitch). Anyways, every journey has to have a playlist, and I was in a 90′s rock mood, so I listened to Hum, Failure, early Foo Fighters and others.

The first stop was at a crazy look out point on highway 101 and it was def. Beer 30 by then so we drank some cold ones and gazed into the beautiful view. The second stop was at one of my favorite places, Arcadia Beach. Things got a little interesting because, at this point, I was practically naked, running around like a savage warrior … and what’s wrong with that?

We got into town just in time for us to get settled in, cleaned up and ready to hit the town’s dive bar, Sportsman’s Pub ‘n Grub. It’s always nice to stick out like a sore thumb and have everyone stare at you like they have never seen a dude with long hair and tattoos, anyways. A huge dude came up to me 30 minutes later, drunk as hell, telling me about how he is a fisherman and that I look like a surfer. I was like, “Sure, cool, right on.” Then, out of nowhere, he takes like his tenth whiskey shot and says, “I hate surfers. I beat them up and you are a surfer.” Scared for my life, I made an attempt to clarify that I was the furthest thing from a surfer, but he passed out and hit his face on the bar.

That was my cue to bail, but I needed to make a pit stop first, so I went to the bathroom. As I was walking in, some redneck stormed out, gave me the stank eye and tried to plow through me. As I was pissing, he walked back in. I was like … “Shit!” and he said, “Hey, Kid Rock … Get your ass out of my town!” I just kept on urinating, acting like he didn’t exist, while he tried to pick a fight in the bathroom. You got to love good old frat boys, their insecurities and how 2 beers brings out the repressed emotions of their glory days in high school.

Saturday morning (2:30pm) we hit the beach to hang and watch the surf competition, where I met a dude who called me out by saying, “HEY! Nice Lordi t-shirt!” -haha- His girlfriend was from Finland and a huge fan of the band. Later that night we were invited to a pig roast, but never made it because I drank too much and passed on the beach cuddled up in a huge wool Mexican blanket.

Sunday was strictly shark week, Scooby Doo marathons and a Bloody Mary. Overall, it was a great weekend and my jeans are full of sand!

I uploaded some pictures for you of me wandering around Portland Oregon, hopping from bar to bar with my lady and some random friends I have met in Portland. After chugging a sparks (YUCK!), I made my way over to a bar called Mulligans but fell in love with a brick wall painted blue. So. I had to take some pictures in front of it. The people around me stared like I was crazy. but I told them, “Don’t be alarmed; I’m a professional”.

After that, I headed to a popular bar called The East end (if you haven’t got it yet… I like to drink). Some rad people work there that play punk rock, some rad rock or punk bands play there also. I took some bathroom photos ’cause the walls were covered in flyers. Plus, who doesn’t take pictures in the bathroom?

The weather was amazing, so we walked to a place that was having 1 dollar pbr & corn dogs. I put, like, 10 dollars in the juke box and played everything from Motorhead to Weezer while sitting outside taking pictures.

After, we headed to my friend’s house because he had guitars, wine, drugs and air conditioning! It was hotter the hell but I love summer nights. We proceeded to jam, drink wine and draw on his wall, which is a gigantic chalk board. Not too much later, I passed out from a mixture of substances…

Yep. I love how people will come up to me or go out of their way to try in pick on me for wearing tight jeans, like its cool to be wearing flip flops, cargo shorts or a college football hat. The best part is their fake compliments. “Hey, those are really cool jeans–where could I get a pair?” I’ll tell them stores, web sites, everything and they try to stop the conversation, but I’m like, “No, you asked, so I’ll inform you and your entire Fraternity.”

I think frat boys like baggy pants because it covers their lack of bulge.

Everyone in my band wears stretch jeans, but I’m not saying that’s the cool thing to do. It’s just what we are into; not bell bottoms, not boot-cut or what ever, just stretch fucking jeans. Anyways, before I go on and on about douchebags picking on guys with long hair and tight jeans, I’ll shut my big mouth.

Every wednesday I will be leaving huge blogs about what me and my lip service jeans have been up to. I’ll post pictures, videos, links and whatever else I feel like but, in the mean time, you should make your way over to my band’s myspace page and check us out or whatever!
